Direct Burial
A Direct Burial is a simple and dignified burial of the remains into cemetery ground, without a formal viewing or graveside ceremony. The interment is completed at a time agreed upon by Alternatives and the cemetery, and no family members are present.
At Alternatives, we manage all essential arrangements with care and professionalism, including coordination with the cemetery and completion of the burial process. This option is designed for families who prefer simplicity while ensuring their loved one is treated with respect at every step.
Should you wish to add a personal or commemorative element at a later time, we can help arrange optional services such as a memorial gathering, flowers, keepsake items, visitations, or additional death certificates—allowing you to honour your loved one in a way that feels right, when the time is right.

Professional Services of Funeral Director and Staff as follows:
- Arrangement conference in your home or our facility
- Staff consultation
- Transfer of human remains from place of death to the funeral home and cemetery
- Administration and receiving facilities
- Shelter of human remains
- Other care and preparation of deceased (includes dressing and casketing)
- Staff coordination and non-scheduled delivery to cemetery
- Composition and placement of press notices (publication charges not included)
- Preparation and filing of the registration of death
- Obtaining burial permit and death certificates
- Delivery of the death certificates to the family
Extra fees to consider: casket, weekend/holiday overtime, venue, celebrant, flowers, guest books, cards - all which we organize with you and your family.
